Brief
Profile of Users
Three San Diego State students took part in this
process. None of the three have any background in web design or know Clifford Boehmer and his book.
Think
Aloud task
I
asked the users to navigate through the website and be able to give one fact
from each section of CliffordÕs life.
Summary
of Think Aloud
The
users began to find their way through the website going to each page. One
started at the bottom of the links and found that they liked that they could
see the main topics at the top and click on that specific link to take them to
that section. One of the links on a subpage was not
working and one of the users had to go back to another page to get to the
section she was looking for. They were all able to come up with three facts
from the different aspects of this life.
Summary
of Posttest
One
main point that the users spoke about was pictures. The text spoke of pictures
that were not available to them yet and they did not like that. Also the
heading colors were not to their liking. They were all shocked at the amount of
text on the Career page and thought it needed to be shortened. They also felt
that the background color was too bland and to maybe change it to a brighter
color.
Findings
to be Implemented
As a
result of this text, I will make the following changes:
á Add
photographs into the webpage
á Cut
down the career section and try and import a pdf file
of that section of the book
á Change
the headings color
Findings
that will not be Implemented
Findings that will not be implemented, at this stage at least, is the background color. I believe that once photographs are in there will be too many colors which will clash. Also, it is based off of a book and I think that changing to a brighter color would not go with the theme.
